Beliefs Create Reality; Doubts Negate Positivity
Friday, January 8, 2010 at 08:55PM An interesting concept, but if you ponder this, you’ll realise that it is also happening in your life!
Makes me recall the situation that Peter found himself in. So he was in his fishing boat one day, and he saw a Figure moving towards him. When he got closer, he realised that it was Him - Jesus! And Peter suddenly realised also that Jesus was actually walking on the water!
Jesus invited Peter to come out of the boat and walk towards Him. So Peter, very trustingly got up on his feet, stepped out of the boat ONTO the water and started walking towards Jesus, never once looking down. Because Peter believed Jesus, and he believed and he trusted the One that called him, and he kept his eyes on Him, he was able to achieve the seeming impossibility of walking on water!
However, same like most of us alot of time, after the initial moments of enjoying the smooth safe path, he took his eyes off his Goal and forgot momentarily what brought him out walking onto the water in the first place., and that’s when troubles started and doubt crept into his mind. He looked down, and Peter humanly thought that he was not supposed to be walking on water! He reverted to his human belief! And he started to sink! Peter’s belief in Jesus’ words and his initial single-mindedness on his Lord created the reality for him, enough to believe that he too could walk on water. But when doubt crept into his mind, he started to sink, and the doubt and once reality became clouded and negated the positivity.
If only we can all have unwavering beliefs in ourselves, our capabilities, all the time, we can do the impossible! If we want to change our life, we must change our belief system. If we continue to do the things the same way that we have always been doing it, we cannot expect to experience changes, can we? ;)
If only we believe, we can achieve! In any and every aspect of our life!
