So You Wanna Know More About Me huh? ![]()
I'm just a regular guy working 8 to 6 every weekday. Having simple interests, I spend my free hours after work jogging around my estate,
swimming in the pool, watching TV or some reading, on occasions, I would go dancing at my fave haunt - BarNone - located at the basement of Singapore's Marriott hotel.
I've undergone many and varied courses - academic, knowledge as well as skills training. The most life-changing of these would have to be the MBA programme conducted by "U-dub"... (when pronounced, but written in full as) University of Western Australia - UWA!
Why life changing? I'll share more in my posts. Suffice to say that it has expanded my horizon , creating greater awareness of my own ignorance. More about this in later posts.
I was born in Mar 1965 at Singapore's Kandang Kerbau Hospital (affably referred to as "KK"), the orignial building has since been taken over by Singapore's Land Transport Authority. The hospital is now housed in a new building across the road from the original premise. It is a modern, well equipped and furnished, speciality hospital renamed Kandang Kerbau Women's & Children's Hospital.
In my early childhood, life was tough... but we got by, nonetheless. Life was so simple then and there was lots of freedom. I was studying in Permaisura Primary School located along Commonwealth Drive in Queenstown in Singapore from 1971 to 1977. By the way, "Permaisura" is a Malay word meaning "Prince". Sadly, the school no longer exists, and the building taken over by New Town Primary School. [Why didn't it happen the other way round??? ;~)] Well, the memories linger and I heard the people in New Town Primary School are gonna start an alumni to also include ex-students from Permaisura. Hmmm... I should try getting in touch with them. Get myself involved.
Secondary school life was hectic. Cos I got myself involved in a couple of extra-curricular activities, of which the major was National Cadet Corps (NCC). Many good memories again come streaming back and many strong bonds were etablished from back then. Buona Vista Secondary School - BVSS - the building of which is now taken over by Anglo Chinese School Independent, was my alma mater.
My first tertiary education was done at Singapore Polytechnic (SP). This campus straddles between Dover Road and Commonwealth Avenue West. I took a course in Production Engineering which was part of the School of Mechanical & Production Engineering then. Life in the SP was very much low-profile, as I was quite active outside with my involvement in the Boys' Brigade (BB).
To be continued...
