Risk Taking - A Decision or A Lifestyle?

One of my role model once said:

Taking a risk is a moment / decision; but not taking risks is a lifestyle.

Sounds profound when I first heard it, but as you consider and ponder over this statement, it slowly comes alive and kaboom! hits you in the face!

When we are faced with a situation where we assess to be risky, and we deliberate and consider carefully then decide to take that risk, it is a well-thought-out decision.  However, if you are the kinda person who never like risks, then it is your lifestyle to never take risks.  And so you will remain at that level.

Taking risks is a moment / decision whilst not taking risks is a lifestyle. If we want to achieve greatness, we must - and it is not a choice - take risks.  Cos taking risks  means that you are placing yourself under additional stress and perhaps tests and when you come out of it ok, you will get to know yourself better and you will come out of the risk situation a better person.

Don’t believe it? Go ahead, try it for yourself.  Consider carefully the situation and decide to be a risk-taker - a calculated risk taker just like me!

Blue skies, always!
